The “Gender Friction” editorial reimagines iconic makeup styles from the late ’90s and early 2000s through a raw, contemporary lens. The focus is on personality over perfection: smudged eyeliner, pencil-thin brows, and overlined lips become deliberate aesthetic statements. Drawing from the rebellious beauty ideals of the punk and rock era, as well as the minimalist stylings of the runway, the series uses visual language to explore identity, transition, and strength.
